The buildings also have to be lit. The aim here was to save 35%. For the lighting, fluorescent tubes with sensors that react to daylight and movement were opted for. Unnecessary use of energy is thus avoided. On one working day a saving of 50% can be reached this way.
Solar boiler
A solar boiler is a system that has been in use in the Netherlands for years. The heat of the sun is utilised through a solar panel. This panel is responsible for direct heating of water which, in turn, heats drinking water for use. This system has been installed on the roof of the workshop.
Energy-aware and sustainable building construction
Through the right choice of building materials in glass and the roof construction, energy saving has been possible in the order of magnitude equal to 50% of the solar power station.
The building is provided with a vegetation roof covering for better insulation and temperature regulation.
